Clayton Danvers is a werewolf. He was found when he was six, a rarity enough as young children rarely survive a werewolf bite, and attached himself to the Alpha who adopted him, Jeremy Danvers, closer than glue. He studied anthropology and as a young man fell in love with Elena Danvers and changed her into a werewolf. This led to a long estrangement between them, which has only recently been uneasily resolved.

Clay is loyal to a fault, stubborn, and very, very handsome. However, he is also rather more wolfish than most of the werewolves, and much more prone to very dangerous fits of temper, as he can break a man's neck with his hands. He trusts next to no one and is at best uneasy around humans, as he never quite fits in. He just never learned really how to be human, since he was changed so young.
